What does Konterbier mean?

German après-ski tradition

"Konterbier" comes from the German "Konter" (counter) + "Bier" (beer). Literally: "counter-beer". The joke is that a beer the day after will counter yesterday. Does it work? We'll leave that unsaid.

Konterbier according to tradition:

• Often served at breakfast with Weißwurst (Bavarian style)
• Best shared with friends who remember as little of yesterday as you do
